Vassar is Weird, and we love it!
IntroductionYou should definitely consider Vassar if you're an open minded person, if you are tolerant, and with relatively liberal views. Conservatives, especially the extreme ones, should stay away. Vassar is a place for self-exploration where you can express yourself without any judgment. It is a liberal arts college which makes it very flexible in terms of academics, etc. Students are free to explore any and all areas of interest without any restrictions or much requirements at all. The flexibility is part of why Vassar is so attractive. You can do what you want to do, not what you have to.Furthermore, the campus is absolutely gorgeous. The architecture is very Harry-Potter-y, as is the quidditch team (yes, we have one of those).
Campus Life and Social LifeVassar has great Campus Life, with a great variety of sports and organizations on campus. From the Ultimate Frisbee team to the A-capella whistling team theres something for everyone. Socially the only downturn is a phenomena called the "Vassar Bubble" where students dont interact that much with the town and limit themselves only to the campus area. There are those bold enough to get past the bubble but are a small percentage. There is enough to do on campus to make up for the buuble. We have an underground dance club called "The Mug" that hosts parties almost everyday.

AcademicsWorkload is pretty heavy as expected, but actual time in class is very little. Free time is abundant although usually used for studying and/or working with your organization. I would have to say that the drama department is very prominent and would suggest anyone with interests in theater should consider Vassar.
Student BodyStudents are so different in so many ways. You'll sometimes see the weirdest most random personalities and they'll still fit right in at Vassar. Everyone is welcome and appreciated.
In Closing...You'll find that Vassar has its own little quirks and traits and they're all special in their own way. All Vassarians learn to love the weirdness of Vassar because it promotes self-expression, development and a certain level of freedom for the students. Vassar is the type of school that can adapt perfectly to your interests/needs and it gives its undergraduate students its full support in all their endeavors.
P.S. Being this close to New York City is always fun ;)
