Forum Topic: "Dare I hope?"

Post a new topic
Mmk, so I've really started to freak out over the past couple of weeks about the college application process. I keep hearing all these horror stories about perfect applicants who get rejected from the Ivies, so I'm a little concerned to say the least. Here are my stats:

-4.0 unweighted, top 5%
-800 Reading SAT, 750 Writing, 680 Math
-11 AP Tests taken and to be taken, 5s and 4s so far,AP scholar
-leadership conferences, UHS, NHS, NLHS (latin), 2 other national honor societies, honor rolls
-theatre (7 years) acted in plays
-art competitions, some awards
-jobs
-loads of community service
-active in church community
-piano for like a decade, some awards
-hospital volunteer, museum volunteer
-People to People Student Ambassador
-Model UN, Latin Club, UIL (academic competitions), theatre club, anti-genocide club

Im applying to like all the Ivy Leagues, UND, JHU, and Wustl.

So, should i still have hope? I know ya'll arent professionals or anything, but I would really like a reality check.

your odds would better if you did something a school wanted/needed (they have plenty of smart people who can play piano and act if you didnt already guess)

ill use this for an example...here at Brown we have ceremonies on campus from time to time and instead of hiring professionals like for graduation, the school will hire the ONE student on campus who can play bagpipes and has the outfit.

So the moral of the story is...ivy leagues like bagpipes and need someone to play at their ceremonies! Get to learnin!

jk just find something unique and weird they would like to have around if you have time left
